DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision perform duties such as recordkeeping, issuance of checks, and maintenance of recycling area. Good public relations between self and customers, both on-site and off-site. Must also be a suitable role model for consumer workers’. responsible for accurately weighting recycling materials and establishing correct refund value shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, consumer management, record keeping, etc. Will be accountable to provide Accounting Department with necessary documents to ensure proper debit or off payment for Recycling materials. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. Will ensure assigned staff place protective materials around load and use hand or automatic strapping equipment to secure load for in plant handling, interim storage or final shipment to customers or to other departments. Will ensure recyclable materials are accurately weighed and establish a correct refund value. Will implement and maintain a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) reference manual for Recycling Department. Supervises assigned consumer workers and staff, ensuring work is performed according to job description (s). Make clear and appropriate delegation of consumers workers’ and staff responsibilities, providing assistance and guidance as needed. Training staff and consumers to use machinery for required tasks, and counsel consumers on appropriate and inappropriate conduct for employment as well as social interaction, disciplining when necessary under the guidance of the ARC Industries Program Directory and approved Personnel Policies and Procedures. Operates an industrial forklift truck to perform material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to, from storage areas, loading docks, and into trucks. Will perform job analysis and supervise time studies. Assure a systematic record keeping of each consumers-workers’ production and any relevant documentation is completed accurately and submitted to the Clinical Program in a timely manner. Reviews materials received for accurate state refundable value. Ensuring up to date product refund value and complete proper reimbursement forms for timely redemption. Instructs consumer in proper use of equipment for the cleaning of (pressure washer-mandovac) steam cleaner interior and exterior vehicles. Supervises vehicle cleaning completion; dealing with customers relatives for maximum satisfaction of job.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent
    combination of education and experience.
  • Must supervision 2 to 3 staff and 6 to 8 consumer-workers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and Spanish.
  • Must have current California Drivers License & Auto Insurance. Must possess a California Class C license and have clean driving record. Must be certified to operate an industrial forklift truck.
