DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLILITIES: On occasions may be responsible for providing general direction and supervision of assigned consumers of the janitorial crew, ensuring that all contract requirements; quality control and rehabilitation needs of the consumers are met.  All room and corridor space floor and carpet surfaces shall be free of obvious dirt, dust and other debris.  Ensure office glass surfaces are clean and fee to dirt, dust, streaks, etc.  All work surfaces should be thoroughly dusted.  Empty waste receptacles and service dispensers.  Clean and service toilet rooms.  Maintain and clean janitorial equipment daily.  Ensures that all grounds keeping contract requirements; quality control and rehabilitation needs of the consumers are met. Will focus on the training of consumer grounds keeping skills. Will assist and perform job assignments in the following areas: Cuts grass, trims hedges and edges, prunes shrubs, and trees.  Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizers.  Plants, cultivates, aerates, etc., Irrigates lawn and shrubs, during dry periods. Ensures all roads, driveways and walkways are kept green and clean of debris.  Cleans and maintains lawn maintenance equipment daily.  Will assist the window-cleaning professional.  Performs floor-cleaning projects in accordance with the contract specifications.  Shall maintain daily objective data on objectives of consumer workers including recording daily time studies.   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must provide a DMV printout with application. Must have a minimum of one (1) year previous Janitorial/Grounds keeping experience.  Must have a High School Diploma or (GED). Must be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish. Must be flexible, reliable and dependable. Must meet all minimum requirements to be considered for this position.  No criminal history. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: For this particular job description, the requirements as indicated will be considered daily on-the-job duties: Frequent bending, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, kneel, pushing/pulling, sitting, standing, walking, handling objects.  Lifts light (up to 23 pounds), drives automotive equipment, is exposed to dust, fumes, gases, is exposed to marked changes in temperature and/or humidity.
